1) I was lying in bed and thinking about a poem on my wall called Retired Ballerinas, Central Park West by Lawrence Ferlinghetti, when I realized how neat it would be to make a dance based on the poem. When I was walking home from school, I saw a leaf in one of the parking lots of where I live. And it was a cool leaf. It was yellow but turning brown at the edges, and the places where its little leafy cells had died and dried up made an edge of the leaf curl in a cool way. It fit in the palm of my hand.

I am awed by his photographs of 20th century America. The ambiances he manages to capture are incredible, and they make you oddly but deeply nostalgic for a time you (most likely) were never even alive to have seen.
